Climbing is becoming increasingly popular worldwide and has also gained in importance at the sporting level since the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. According to the FASI (Federazione Arrampicata Sportiva Italiana), this sport is also growing rapidly in Italy, especially among the under-35s. The new bouldering hall will meet this challenge and offer both climbing enthusiasts a first-class environment in which to develop their skills and newcomers the opportunity to get to know this discipline in a safe environment.
While the Oberalp Group continues to focus on lead climbing (with a bouldering area) at the climbing hall at the Salewa headquarters in Bolzano South, which opened in 2011, the new “Salewa Cube” at WaltherPark is designed as a pure bouldering hall with the most modern equipment. The hall is inspired by international climbing halls and thus also offers a spacious chill-out area, a yoga station, and the only kilter board (training board) in South Tyrol.
The design of the bouldering hall is based on the architectural concept of Bolzano Sud and creates a pleasant atmosphere with natural light and an open interior design. The motto “Climb Indoor - Feel Outdoor” is reflected in the entire design and makes the climbing experience even more authentic.
