Meet Steve, our Speciality Sales Manager for Salewa, Dynafit & Pomoca

Steve is a well-rounded, pragmatic, and likable individual who brings a unique combination of talents to his role as a sales manager for Oberalp North America. He is responsible for managing key initiatives and resources necessary to support sell-in and sell-out sales campaigns for Salewa, Dynafit, and Pomoca in North America. With his long-term experience in the company, Steve has worked hard to showcase his reliability and adherence to the company's principles.

One of Steve's standout qualities is his critical thinking and intuition, which allow him to find creative solutions to challenging problems. He is also known for his sensibility, humility, and strong work ethic. He is outspoken at times but always tries to remain open-minded and mindful, that is important to him.

Steve is dedicated to improving processes within the sales department and is always looking for ways to make life easier for his team. He is particularly skilled at simplifying sales data so that the sales team can make quicker and more informed decisions and standardize seasonal resources. Having the trust of his superiors and peers is paramount to Steve.

In his free time, Steve is an avid fly fisherman who enjoys getting outside and exploring rivers in Colorado and Wyoming with his girlfriend and dog. He believes that the more people learn to appreciate their environment through recreation and sport, the more they will protect it.

Steve is also appreciated among his colleagues because of his values and his mindfulness. He is the kind of person who always strives to improve in both his personal and his work life. Steve is motivated by comradery, working towards a common goal, and challenging one another along the way. This is what he also likes about his job. Asked why he has been doing this job for so long, he smiles and says he gets asked this question many times, especially during interviews with potential hires. "I always come back to the same reason..…because of the company ethos and the people. I feel extremely fortunate to work for a family-owned company that invests so much into people, sustainability, and the general posterity of the outdoor industry," he replies outright.

Indeed also, Steve's engagement goes beyond and is exemplary: By his motivation, Steve took old fabric advertising banners, recycled them, sewed bags out of them, and gave them to colleagues, friends, and customers. Each one of them is a unique handmade masterpiece and is very much sought-after in the company. His commitment goes far beyond the usual, and he is an inspiration for many colleagues.
