Meet Peer, our Outlet Coordinator for Germany

Peer is Oberalp Store Manager in Zweibrücken and Outlet Coordinator for Germany. Anyone who knows him must like him, because with his open, communicative, and empathic nature, he immediately wins over those around him. As warm-hearted as he is with others, Peer has high expectations of himself. As a sporty personality who enjoys bouldering, climbing, freeskiing and beach volleyball, it is important to him to let off steam and push himself in his free time. Nevertheless, good mood, nice people and delicious food are always part of it for the sociable Peer.

In his role as Store Manager, Peer is responsible for the Salewa Outlet Zweibrücken, as well as the German outlets in Zweibrücken, Metzingen and Radolfzell. He is passionate about staff management and merchandise availability but is particularly concerned with staff development and the continuous, creative compilation of the merchandise assortment in order to fulfill the wishes of his - now numerous - regular customers.

As Outlet Coordinator, he is mainly responsible for training new managers and with his rich experience, Peer has become an indispensable sparring partner, both professionally and personally. However, Peer is not only available as a contact person for his colleagues, but he also enjoys being in the store himself and advising a wide variety of customers on their purchasing decisions.

What Peer particularly appreciates about his work at Oberalp is the closeness and openness within the Oberalp family, which he has experienced time and again over the years. "The fair and honest way of dealing with each other, the confidence in being able to make independent decisions in many areas of responsibility and always having an open ear for each other, that's important to me," says Peer.

For him, it's part of the job to be able to fail from time to time, but what's important to him is that you learn from this experience and improve. That's why he feels particularly close to Oberalp's corporate value "We reward courage". Through his diligence, perseverance and self-motivation, Peer has successfully mastered many mountains - not only those he can touch, but also professional and personal ones. Peer's motto is: "Practise makes perfect" and he is convinced that success comes through active action. His athleticism, ambition, curiosity, and willingness to help have always helped him achieve this.

Peer loves challenges, is solution-oriented and always looks for the best results for everyone. "I like working at Oberalp because you can feel that it is a family business, because you are valued and literally form a real rope team," Peer finds. "I burn for my job and enjoy going to work every day. I find the necessary balance in nature, there I feel the boundless freedom and enjoy the moments and adventures together with friends - that is priceless for me. Just like a cozy evening with family and friends every now and then with nice conversations and a good glass of wine," Peer says with a twinkle in his eye.
